Our label templates are designed to work with the software you already have. Here is how to get started in each format.
How to Use the JPG Template
The JPG image shows the exact physical layout of labels on the sheet, with all dimensions, margins, and label spacing clearly marked. Use the JPG when your design software requires you to manually enter label dimensions, or when you want a visual reference before setting up your artwork. Print the JPG at 100% scale on plain paper first to verify alignment before printing on your label sheets.
How to Use the Microsoft Word Template
Right-click the Word template link and choose "Save As" to download it to your computer. Open the file in Microsoft Word. If the label outlines are not visible, go to the Layout tab and turn on View Gridlines. Type or paste your content directly into each label cell. When you are ready to print, load your blank label sheets into the printer tray and print at 100% scale — never use "fit to page" as this will scale your layout and cause misalignment.
How to Use the PDF Template in Illustrator or Inkscape
Right-click the PDF template link and save it to your computer. Open it in Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, or your preferred design application. Lock the template as its own layer, then create a new layer above it for your artwork. Design within the label boundaries on the top layer. Before printing, hide or delete the template layer so the label outlines do not print on your finished labels.
How to Use the EPS Template
EPS templates are vector files best suited for Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and other professional design applications. Open the EPS file and use it as your base layout layer. Because EPS files are fully scalable vector files, they are the preferred format for high-resolution label artwork intended for professional printing.
How to Use the Template in Canva
Go to Canva and follow these steps:
- Click Create
- Click Custom size and type in 8.5 x 11 inches and click Create Custom Design
- Upload and select the Canva Template you saved from LaserInkjetLabels.com
- Stretch template edge-to-edge
- Now you are ready to add text and images!

Why is my label printing slightly off-center? The most common cause is a "fit to page" or "shrink to fit" print setting scaling your layout. Always print at exactly 100% scale. Also confirm your printer's paper size is set to Letter (8.5 x 11). Running a test print on plain paper before loading label sheets is the best way to catch alignment issues before they waste your label stock.
Can I use these templates with a roll label printer? These sheet-format templates are designed for standard 8.5 x 11 sheet label printers. Roll label printers use continuous roll stock and are typically set up through the printer's own software driver rather than a Word or PDF template.
