Pigment Based Inkjet Cartridges

For best results when printing on most of our inkjet printable labels we suggest that you use Pigment Based Inks instead of Dye Based Inks. Using Pigment Based Inks is actually a requirement when printing on our White PolyGloss inkjet labels and our Clear Glossy Inkjet Labels. Most of our label products have a special top coating that when used with pigment based inks form a bond that helps "merge" the inks into the coating, creating a smudge proof label. Or as in the case of our White PolyGloss Labels, an extremely water-resistant label.

The exception to this rule is with Primera Roll label printers. Our research has found that the opposite is true and Dye based inkjet work best as opposed to Pigment based inks.

So how do you know if your printer is using Pigment or Dye based inks?

Any DURABrite Ultra pigment ink (smudge, fade and water resistant) will work. Also, Epson Claria Hi-Definition Inks work.
